The NIFT Exam Pattern 2024 is different for different courses on which the candidates want to secure admission. If the candidates want to secure admission in the Bachelor of Design (BDes) program available at NIFT campuses, then they need to attempt two different offline (pen-and-paper-based) test that is known as Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).

NIFT is known as a national-level entrance exam that is organized by the NIFT Institute. It provides admission in several Fashion and Technology courses. After the candidates qualify for the NIFT entrance exam, they can secure admission into programs such as M.F.M, M.Des, B.F.Tech, B.Des, and M.F.Tech.

The exam mode for NIFT 2024 will be Pen and Paper-based Exams conducted offline. The test is conducted into two parts such as Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). NIFT Exam Pattern 2024 for Situation Test

The applicants who have qualifies for CAT and GAT exams are advised to attempt the situation test. The test is held to assess the ability of the candidate’s way to look at the material’s particular sets and their creativity in the given situation. The applicants are not allowed to bring any kind of extra material. The evaluation of the model will be organized on the basis of the visualization of the space, element composition, color scheme, uniqueness, creativity, finishing, construction, and etc.


NIFT 2024 GD and PI Round

There will be around 15 to 20 min of GD round conducted for the given case study. The main purpose of conducting this round will be judging the applicants on several factors such as effective communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving approach, etc.

While in the round of the personal interview, the applicants will be assessed based on several factors such as Course Aptness, general awareness & aptitude, communication, creative thinking, career orientation, achievement in academics and co-curricular activities, etc.


How to fill the OMR Sheet of NIFT 2024?

As the OMR Sheets will be scanned digitally, therefore the applicants are advised to fill the OMR sheets carefully. Even a small mistake in the OMR sheets may be inaccurately encoded by the computer during the scanning time. The methods and approaches to fill the OMR Sheet of the NIFT are discussed below in the following points.

  • The machines will scan the answer sheet to calculate the marks
  • There will be four answers assigned for every question. The candidates can mark the right response option by darkening the circle corresponding to the respective option, they mark the option by using ballpoint (blue or black) pens.
  • The candidates must know that marking more than one option or incorrect shading will be taken as an incorrect response.
  • The applicants can check the right approach to mark the circle which is available on the ‘Important Instruction’ of Side – 1 of the response sheet.
  • The applicants are restricted to tear, bend or ruin the response sheet.
  • No negative marking will be there for the applicants for wrong responses.

The applicants must read the instructions given below before they appear in the exam:

  • The applicants must attempt mock-test series and solve previous year papers on a regular basis.
  • They are advised to arrive at the exam hall before the exam commencement.
  • The applicants need to bring the NIFT Admit Card 2024 and the valid identity card proof to the exam hall.
  • Certain items such as Jewellery, belts, watches, and others items are prohibited in the examination hall.
  • Electronic devices like Bluetooth, Mobile, Pagers, and Phones, and etc. are prohibited in the examination hall.
