On the IAF website, a correction window for AFCAT application form 2022 has been established. The deadline for making changes to the application form is January 21, 2022. On December 1, 2021, the AFCAT 2022 online application link was opened. The application cost was INR 250/- for each candidate. The deadline for applications was December 30, 2021. The AFCAT 1 Exam 2022 will take place between February 12 and 14, 2022.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the AFCAT exam, candidates need to make sure they are eligible. For your convenience, the AFCAT eligibility criteria for various branches/courses are listed below.





Age limit

For Flying Branch: 20-24 years

For Ground Duty: 20-26 years

Educational Qualification

For Ground Duty: A minimum of 60% in Physics and Maths, as well as a minimum of 4 years of engineering/technology degree graduation/integrated post-graduation certification from a recognised university.

Flying Branch requires the following:
Graduation (minimum 3 years) in any discipline with a minimum 60% grade point average and math and physics as a subject in 12th grade. B.E/B.Tech from a reputable university with a minimum of 60%.

Technical Branch:
A four-year degree is required. Must have passed Sections A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India with a minimum of 60%.

AFCAT Application Form: Documents Required

Candidates must have the following documents ready in the approved format in order to fill out the AFCAT Application Form. The following are the documents:

  • Scanned copy of signatures.
  • Scanned image of thumb impression (Male- Left, Female- Right).
  • Working Mobile No.
  • Credit/ Debit card/ Net Banking credentials.
  • Recent coloured passport size photograph.
  • Active Email ID.

Please note that the scanned copies of the photo, signature and thumbprint should only be 10 to 50 kb in size.

AFCAT Application Form: How to Apply

Aspirants could apply for the AFCAT test online after checking their eligibility. Other ways of application will not be considered. To apply for the AFCAT exam, follow these steps:

Step 1: Register on the website

  1. Visit the AFCAT official website, afcat.cdac.in.
  2. Find and click on the ‘Candidate’s Login’ link after clicking on the ‘Apply Now’ page.
  3. By clicking on ‘New Candidate,’ you can register as a new user.
  4. Fill in your personal information as well as a valid email address.
  5. The login credentials will then be emailed to this address.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

  1. Select the type of entry, AFCAT, NCC Special Entry for Flying Branch, after logging in with their registered email ID and password.
  2. Read the instructions carefully before pressing the “Continue” button.
  3. Click on ‘Application Form Filling’ and begin entering the information shown below:

  • Candidates can click the ‘Continue to Part 3’ option after filling out all of the required information.
  • Following that, candidates must enter the subjects in their graduation.
  • Choose a course and an examination city.
  • They will have to select between Flying Ground Duty (Technical) Ground Duty and Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

Note: The IAF reserves the right to assign branches based on their suitability and the availability of vacancies, regardless of the selections made.

Candidates must include their NCC Air Wing “C” Serial Number, Name of NCC Unit, and Year, if applicable. Candidates who appeared for AFSB/SSB: Batch number, location of passing, days, and source of AFCAT 2022 information. Candidates who have passed the GATE examination: year of examination and GATE score

Step 3: Upload Documents and Application Fees

  • Step 1: Fill in the remaining personal information requested in the form and move on to the next stage.
  • Step 2: In the specified format, upload high-quality scanned images of a passport-size photograph, signature, and right thumb impression.
  • Step 3: After that, choose whether to pay the application cost online or offline.
  • Step 4: The INR 250 application fee must be paid by debit/credit card or net banking. Download the challan and pay at HDFC/Axis bank to make an offline payment.
  • Step 5: Before pressing the ‘SUBMIT’ button, carefully ‘PREVIEW’ your application.
  • Step 6: Print out the completed application form.

AFCAT Application Form: Application Status

Candidates must follow the steps below to verify the status of their AFCAT application form 2022.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website.
  • Step 2: To access the Candidate Login page, go to the Candidate Login tab.
  • Step 3: Choose an AFCAT year cycle.
  • Step 4: Submit your credentials by entering them and clicking the submit button.
  • Step 5: The candidate’s customised login window will appear on a new page.

AFCAT Application Form Correction Window

Only candidates who finish the AFCAT application process on time are eligible for the AFCAT rectification window, which is opened by the IAF. All applicants, however, are recommended to submit all information carefully and correctly, rather than waiting for the AFCAT correction opportunity.

Candidates will have the option of changing their father’s and mother’s names, gender, photo signature, and post preference. Corrections to the AFCAT application form do not require payment of a charge.
