For all exams conducted under the 2nd Group, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has announced the APPSC Group 2 eligibility criteria. Before applying for the post of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer (A.C.T.O.) in the A.P. Commercial Taxes Subordinate Service, Deputy Tahsildar in the A.P. Revenue Subordinate Service, Assistant Labour Officer (A.L.O.) in the A.P. Labour and Employment Subordinate Service, Assistant Development Officers (A.D.O.) in the A.P. Handloom and Textile Department, and many other posts under APPSC Group 2 services, the candidates must go through the eligibility criteria of the exam.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply for the APPSC Exam. The APPSC has granted reserved candidates age relaxation, which would be applied in accordance with the rules and regulations. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree from a recognised university, on the other hand, is required for any position.

From March 20, 2022, qualified candidates can apply for the APPSC exam online (tentative). Candidates can apply for this Exam by filling out the application form and paying the application fee on the official website. Candidates must check the detailed APPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern in addition to knowing the eligibility conditions.

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria: Age Requirements and Relaxation

The APPSC Exam has a minimum age limit of 18 years and a maximum age limit of 42 years, depending on the post and category. To be considered for the APPSC position, individuals must match the specified age requirements.

Candidates for the Prohibition and Excise Sub Inspector position must be no older than 28 years old, while candidates for all other positions must be no older than 42 years old. The following table shows the age relaxation for several categories:

Widows, women judicially separated from their husbands, divorced women, and women who are not remarried and do not belong to the SC/ST category are covered under the Rule 12(b)(iii) of Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 with the reference to posts of Junior Assistants.

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

  • The applicant appearing for the APPSC Group 2 exam must be a citizen of India.
  • Even if the applicant is Indian, they should also be qualified in the above-mentioned criteria in age and education.
  • The applicant should also be well-versed in English and Telugu language.

What is the maximum number of APPSC Exam attempts?

There is no official notification regarding the number of attempts. Nationality, age, language ability, and educational qualifications would be the only criteria used to determine eligibility.

Is there any prior experience needed to apply for the APPSC Exam?

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) does not require candidates to have any prior experience to apply for Group 2 positions.
