CSIR NET also known as Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Undergraduate Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is a National-level exam and is popularly known as CSIR- UGC NET or simply CSIR NET. According to the revised pattern, the exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This exam is conducted to select candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointing candidates as a lecturer in universities/colleges.
The CSIR NET exam is conducted twice a year, once in the month of June and secondly in the month of December. The application form for the CSIR NET exam will be filled in online mode and the exam for the same will also be held in online mode i.e. Computer-Based test. Step 1: CSIR NET 2022 Registration Process
- First of all, go to the official website of NTA and click on the ‘Apply online’ link to fill the registration form.
- Now candidates need to enter their Personal details, Email ID, Mobile number, etc as required.
Step 2: Filling CSIR NET 2022 Application Form
- After the registration process, the system will generate a provisional application number and password that will be sent on your email Id and mobile number.

CSIR NET 2022 Eligibility
Before filling the application form, candidates are instructed to download the information brochure to get detailed information about all the eligibility criteria. Here we have given some basic eligibility criteria that the candidates must have to satisfy.
Nationality
The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
Age Limit
- For Junior Research Fellowship:
- The maximum age limit of the candidates should be of 28 years as of January 1, 2022.
- 5 years of relaxation will be given for SC/ ST/ PWD and female candidates as of January 1, 2022.
- 3 years of relaxation will be given for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates as of January 1, 2022.
- For Lectureship:
- There is no age limit required to apply for Lecturership.
- Candidates of any age can apply.

The Answer key for Joint CSIR NET Exam will be released after one-two weeks of examination on the official website of CSIR i.e. csirnet.nta.nic.in.

- The representation/ representations must be sent through the email only as no other mode will be applicable.

Here are some instructions have been given that you need to follow, candidates have to follow these instructions as given below-
Documents to Carry at the Examination Center:
- Print out the CSIR NET admit card.
- One passport-size photograph exactly the same as when uploaded while filling the application form.
- An original government photo ID card such as Passport/ Driving License/ PAN card/ Aadhaar card (with photograph)/ Aadhaar enrolment number/ Ration card/ Voter ID card, etc.
- PwD certificate, for PwD candidates only.
Documents/things not to Carry:
- Any printed or written textual things or any kind of study material, Pens, Slide rules, Log tables, Bags, etc are not permitted to let these things in, in the exam hall.
- Any kind of electronic item is also not allowed such as a watch/ calculator/ mobile/ Bluetooth devices, etc.
- For the normal candidates, Edible things are not allowed to carry while diabetic candidates are allowed to carry the edibles like fruit/ sugar tablets/ and transparent water bottles.
