OPSC CSE Selection Process

To acquire a desired post with the Odisha Public Service Commission, candidates must pass all levels of the CSE under the OPSC Recruitment campaign. All candidates must pass three stages in a single sitting. Aspirants will not be able to skip or leap any stages in the OPSC 2022 recruiting process. OPSC ASO Syllabus For CSE Preliminary Exam

The OPSC CSE Preliminary Exam is a qualification exam. It is a mandatory exam, and those who pass it will be allowed to take the Main exam. The commission will determine the qualifying marks in the preliminary exam. This exam’s results will not be used to determine to rank. The following is a detailed syllabus for the OPSC CSE Preliminary Exam:

For each incorrect response, 0.25 points will be deducted. Only one of the four options available to the candidate must be chosen. It will be considered a bad response if they mark more than one answer.

There are required and optional papers in the Main Exam. Odia Language, English, English Essay, and General Studies I & II are the five obligatory papers.

OPSC CSE Main Exam Syllabus: English Essay

Candidates will have to prepare an essay on a specified subject. They will be offered the option of choosing a subject. Candidates must stay on subject, write succinctly, and organise their thoughts in a logical manner. Effective and precise expression will be rewarded.

OPSC CSE Main Exam Syllabus: General Studies I

The syllabus for General Studies I is as under:

1. History of Modern India and Indian Culture
   (a) The History of Modern India will cover the following :
   (i) History of India since 1857
   (ii) Important personalities who shaped the Freedom Movements in Odisha and India
   (iii) Social Reform Movements
   (b) Indian culture will cover the following:
   (i) Indian culture from ancient times to modern times
   (ii) Temple architecture of Odisha
   (iii) Socio-cultural developments in Odisha
2. The geography of India will cover the following:
   (i) Physical, the economic and social geography of India
   (ii) Odisha’s Physiography and Drainage system
   (iii) Odisha’s Natural Resources – Water, forest and minerals
3. Indian Polity will include the following:
   (i) Constitution of India
   (ii) Political system of India
   (iii) Government and politics in Odisha
   (iv) Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Odisha
4. Current National issues and topics of social relevance:
   This part is intended to test the candidate’s awareness of current national issues and topics of social relevance in present-day India, such as:

4. Developments in science & technology, communications, and space: The questions in this section will test candidates’ awareness of the developments in the field of science & technology, communications, space, and basic ideas of the computer.
5. Statistical Analysis, Graphs & Diagrams: This part will include exercises to test the candidates’ ability to draw common-sense conclusions from information presented in graphical, statistical, or diagrammatic form and point out deficiencies, limitations or inconsistencies therein. The candidates should also be aware of the techniques of counting and elementary probability.

Five required papers and four optional papers make up the OPSC Main exam. The descriptive form of the exam will be used in the Mains. The following are the specifics of these papers:

OPSC CSE Personal Interview

Candidates who pass the Main exam will be interviewed by the OPSC’s Board of Examiners. The Personal Interview is worth 250 points.

The purpose of the interview is to determine the candidate’s personal appropriateness for the position. The purpose of the interview is to assess the following qualities in the candidate:

v) Mental alertness

The OPSC examination results will be released separately for each of the three stages, including the preliminary examination, main examination, and interview.
