OTET Exam Pattern 2022: Along with the official notification on the OTET exam date, the OTET 2022 exam pattern and curriculum will be updated. This OTET Exam has two papers: OTET Paper-I is for candidates who want to teach classes I to V, and OTET Paper-II is for applicants who want to teach classes VI to VIII.

Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies are the subjects covered in OTET Paper-I, whereas Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics, and Social Studies are the subjects covered in OTET Paper-II.

OTET 2022 Paper-I: Child Development and Pedagogy Pattern

The fundamental goal of Child Development and Pedagogy is for a teacher to be able to make appropriate decisions about a student’s progress, comprehend the learners’ learning process, and encourage pupils to advance academically.

  • There are 30 questions on the subject of child development and pedagogy.
  • This section includes questions about learning theories, dialogic learning, and critical pedagogy, among others.

OTET 2022 Paper-I: Language-I (Odia/ Urdu/ Hindi/ Bengali/ Telugu)Pattern

The primary goal of this section is to assess a teacher’s proficiency in their home language. The ability of a teacher to read, write, and communicate in Odia, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, and Telugu.

OTET 2022 Paper-I: Language-II English Pattern

The primary goal of this section is to assess a teacher’s mastery of English at the elementary level. The ability of a teacher to communicate in English.

OTET 2022 Paper-I: Mathematics Pattern

The major goal of this section is to assess a teacher’s Data Handling and Mathematical Patterns.

In the Mathematics Pattern, there are a total of 30 problems.
Shapes and spatial considerations are examples of such questions. This section contains questions about relationships, measurement, number systems, and numerical operations, among other things.

OTET 2022 Paper-I: Environmental Studies Pattern

The primary goal of this section is to assess a teacher’s understanding of health and diseases, methodologies, and environmental approaches.

  • In the Environmental Studies Pattern, there are a total of 30 questions.
  • In this section, students are given questions on the matter, force, and energy, as well as the history of India’s and Odisha’s freedom struggles, as well as the physical characteristics of Odisha and India.

OTET 2022 Paper-I: Marking Scheme

  • The OTET exam will have a total of 150 questions.

The major goal of this section is to assess a teacher’s Data Handling and Mathematical Patterns.

  • 30 questions from mathematics and 30 questions from science were asked.
  • In this section, students are asked questions on shapes and spatial relationships, measurement, number system and operations in numbers, observation, methodologies, tools for assessing learning, and so on.

OTET 2022 Paper-II Social Studies Pattern

The primary goal of this section is to assess a teacher’s understanding of health and diseases, methodologies, and environmental approaches.

  • In the Social Studies Pattern, there are a total of 60 questions.
  • 30 questions each from Political Science and History, as well as 30 questions from Geography.
  • This section asks about the goals and objectives of social science, the necessity of teaching-learning social sciences at the primary and secondary levels, and the goal of teaching-learning social sciences.

Students applying for lower primary must only take Paper I, whereas students applying for upper primary must take Paper-II. Students who are applying for both the lower and upper primary levels must appear in both papers. Students were given appointments in the individual schools after passing the OTET exam, based on openings.

Q1. Can I appear OTET Exam from my personal computer?

Ans. No, you must go to the testing centre and take the computer-based exam.

Q2. Are there negative markings for the wrong MCQ questions?

Ans. No, there is no negative marking in the OTET for incorrect MCQ questions.

Q3. Are there any subjective questions asked in the OTET examination?

Ans. In the OTET exam, only objective questions are asked. This exam does not include any subjective questions.

Q4. Can I appear in Paper-I and Paper-II on the same day?

Ans. You can appear in both papers on the same day if you want to.

Q5. Questions from how many sections are asked in this OTET exam?

Ans. This OTET exam has questions from five sections.
