SEBI Grade A Syllabus 2022: The Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) conducts the SEBI Grade A Recruitment exam. Applicants for the post of Assistant Manager in the General, Legal, Information Technology, and Engineering Stream are sought by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. Applicants take the SEBI Officer Grade A Exams every year.

Their success in a two-phased online exam and interview will determine their selection. There are two papers in each of the online-written exams: Paper-I and Paper-II. Both Phases’ Paper-I and Paper-II syllabuses are similar, making preparation easier.

SEBI Grade A 2022 Syllabus

The SEBI Grade A syllabus is quite different from the rest of the government exams. Three phases make up the SEBI Grade A Officer Exam.

  • Phase I: On-line screening examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each
  • Phase II: On-line examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each
  • Phase III: Interview

The General Stream’s Paper I and Paper II will be the same for all applicants. With the exception of the language subject, all questions in each phase will be multiple choice questions (MCQs). All question papers (except the English test) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English in both phases.

SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern For Phase I

There will be two papers in the SEBI Grade A Phase I Exam: Paper I and Paper II. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be included in both papers. Paper 1 will be the same for all streams, whereas Paper 2 will be different depending on the discipline. Both papers will be worth 100 marks. Both Hindi and English versions are available.


SEBI Grade A Phase I Marking Scheme

  • To be considered for Phase II, candidates must achieve a separate cut-off in each paper, as well as an aggregate cut-off of 40% in the Phase I exam.
  • For Paper 1, there will be a minimum 30 percent cut-off (no sectional cut-off shall be there)
  • To be shortlisted for Phase II, candidates must achieve separate cut-offs in each paper as mentioned above, as well as an aggregate cut-off mark of 40% in the Phase I exam.
  • For each incorrect answer, a quarter of a mark will be deducted from the question’s score.

SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern For Phase II

Those who meet the cutoff will be eligible to take the SEBI Grade A Phase II Exam. Paper I and Paper II, both worth 100 marks, will be part of SEBI Grade A Phase 2. All students will take Paper I and the General Stream. Applicants should score higher in this phase because it will be factored into the final decision.

Paper-II will be held in various shifts for applicants who applied in multiple streams, the timings of which will be indicated on the Hall Ticket.

Marking Scheme For SEBI Grade A Phase II

  • For Paper 2 in Phase II, there will be negative marking of 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question (except IT stream for which details shall be informed in due course).
  • In Phase II, there will be a minimum 30 percent cut-off for Paper 1 and a minimum 40 percent cut-off for Paper 2.
  • To be shortlisted for Phase III, applicants must achieve separate cut-offs in each paper, as well as an aggregate cut-off of 40% in the Phase II exam (weightage of 1/3rd for Paper 1 and 2/3rd for Paper 2).

SEBI Grade A Syllabus For Phase I: Paper I

Phase I of the SEBI Grade A Syllabus Paper I will be the same for all candidates. There will be 100-point MCQs in this section. The first paper will be divided into four sections:

SEBI Grade A Syllabus For Phase II: Paper I

This is true for everyone taking the SEBI Grade A Phase II Exam. The English Descriptive Test is used to evaluate applicants’ drafting abilities. This will be a single test test with a time limit of 60 minutes.

English Writing Skill Syllabus

The English paper will be designed to assess writing skills such as expression and comprehension of the topic, as well as precis writing, essay writing, and comprehension.

Interview

Candidates who pass the SEBI Grade A Officer Recruitment Phases I and II will be invited to an interview. In order of merit, applicants equaling three times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase III, the interview.

Depending on the student’s preference, the interview can be conducted in Hindi or English. The marks obtained in Phase II will be weighted at 85%, while the marks obtained in the interview will be weighted at 15%.

As a result, the marks obtained in Phase II and the interview will be used to determine the final selection of applicants as a SEBI Grade A Officer.
