Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship program:

  • Applicants must be West Bengal residents.
  • must be pursuing studies at a recognized institute in the state at the post-madhyamik level or higher.
  • Candidates must have completed pre-madhyamik education at a state board/council of secondary/higher secondary education, Madrasah education, or a state university.
  • The total annual family income should be less than or equal to 2.5 lakh.
  • For only minority communities: Applicants must be members of a minority group (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Parsee, or Jain).

Class 11th or equivalent (higher secondary level)

  • Must have obtained a minimum of 75% in Madhyamik Pariksha or an equivalent examination.

Diploma (Polytechnic level)

  • For a one-year diploma course, you must have passed the Madhyamik Pariksha or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 75%.
  • Must have passed a two-year diploma course in Pharmacy, 3-D animation & Graphics, Modern Office Practice and Management with a minimum of 75% on the higher secondary exam or equivalent.

Undergraduate courses

  • Must have passed a higher secondary or equivalent exam with a minimum of 75% in the best five subjects.

Postgraduate courses

  • Passed honors subjects at graduation level with 53% marks (general education)
  • Passed honors in engineering at graduation level with 55% marks (engineering courses)

Kanyashree applicants

  • Must be in receipt of a valid sanctioned K-2 ID
  • Must be pursuing a postgraduate degree in Science, Commerce, or the Arts.
  • Must have received a cumulative grade point average of 45 percent in graduation.

M.Phil./ Non-NET/ NET-LS Research Fellow

  • Must be enrolled in a state-supported PhD or M.Phil. program.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2022 Application Process

Applications for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship will only be accepted online through the official website. Candidates should only fill out one application form. If more than one application is submitted, all of them will be considered duplicates and rejected. The application procedure is outlined below.

  • Click the “Registration” button on the official website.
  • Read the instructions, check the box next to the declaration, and then click the “Proceed to Registration” button.
  • Fill out the form with the requested information and submit it. An applicant ID will be generated after the registration form has been successfully submitted.
