JEE Main Cut off

Following the release of the JEE Main 2022 results for both sessions, JoSAA will announce the JEE Main Cut Off for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The cutoff percentage is the minimum score required to be accepted into the B.Tech/B.E., B.Arch/B.Planning, and other programs at NITs, IIITs, and other participating colleges.

The qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff for JEE Main 2022 will be made public. The JEE Main Cut-off percentile for the General category in 2021 was 87.8992241 and for OBC-NCL it was 68.0234447, which is a slight decrease from 2020. We have included the cut-off for the previous year in this article.

For B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Pan admission to 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and 29 other GFTIs, the JEE Main Admission Cut-off 2022 will, on the other hand, be made public by JoSAA. For each round of JoSAA Counseling, the admission cut-off is, however, announced as the opening and closing ranks. Getting marks above 200 (equivalent to a rank below 5000) would be necessary for admission to the top 5 NITs based on the previous year’s cut-offs.

The dates for the JEE Main 2022 Exam have changed; Phase 1 will now take place from 20 to 29 June 2022, and Phase 2 will take place from 21 to 30 July 2022. Phase 2 JEE Main Registration will soon begin on the official website.

JEE Main 2022: Qualifying Cut Off vs Admission Cut Off

There will be a qualifying cut-off and an admission cut-off for the JEE Main exam in 2022. These are the two types of cut-offs that will be used. The qualifying score for the JEE Main exam in 2022 is determined by a variety of factors connected to the test. In addition to this, it differs depending on the category, the course, and the institute.

  • The qualifying cut-off marks for the JEE Main 2022 exam are the minimum score required to be eligible for advancement to the JEE Advanced 2022 exam. These marks are referred to as the qualifying cut-off.
    • This cutoff will be announced in a manner that is distinct for each of the JEE Main 2022 sessions.
    • Students will be able to determine whether or not they have met the minimum requirements for admission by consulting either the JEE Main 2022 Results or their own scorecard.
    • The qualifying cut-off will allow approximately 2,50,000 candidates to progress to the next round of the JEE Advanced exam, which will be held in 2022.
  • The term “admission cut-off” refers to the minimum number of points or ranks that must be achieved in order to be accepted into one of the educational institutions that took part in the study.
  • After each round of seat allotment, the JoSAA will announce these cut-off scores and share them with the public.
  • As a result, the minimum grade point average required for admission differs not only from school to school but also from subject to subject within the same school.

Factors Determining the JEE Main 2022 Cutoff

As previously mentioned, the cutoff for JEE Main is determined using a number of variables. JEE Main Cut-off was also influenced by marks earned in Class 12th board exams taken earlier (2013-2016). Board exams for Class 12th were given a weight of 40% when determining JEE Main rank. However, the following are the main considerations that determine the JEE Main cutoff:

The candidates’ average marks are calculated as follows:

  • Total number of positions open in the field
  • The degree of the paper’s difficulty
  • previous year’s deadlines
  • performance overall of candidates.
