IIT JAM 2024 Exam Pattern: The examination of IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) is going to be conducted through online mode which is CBT mode for all the seven test papers. The test will be conducted within a time limit of 3 hours and its medium will be English only. The mock test paper is also released for each paper by the authorities. This examination is organized every year by the institute in 7 subjects in February. Those candidates who take this exam are preparing for admission in IITs, and NITs for MSc courses. There will be a total of 7 test papers included in the IIT JAM. The exam will be conducted in February 2024 by the authority will conduct it by the online mode the Computer Based Test. In IIT JAM 2023, a new paper that is Economics (EN) is added. The exam pattern of the Economics paper is similar to the other papers and students with an Economics background can apply for this pattern.
Yes, the marking scheme of IIT JAM 2023 contains negative marking which is only applicable to MCQ questions. According to the marking scheme, 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer with a weightage of 1 marks. While 2/ 3 marks will be deducted for wrong answers with the weightage of 2 marks. Negative marking does not apply to unattempted questions and MSQ and NAT sections.
There are 3 sections in the question paper named Section A (containing 30 MCQ questions), Section B (containing 10 MSQs questions) and Section C (containing 20 NTA questions).

No, there are no significant changes brought in the marking scheme of IIT JAM 2023. Similar to the previous years marking scheme negative marking applicable to Section an only for every wrong answer perforations with the weightage of 1 mark. The marks that will be deducted is 1/3. Also for each question with the weightage of 2 marks 2/3 marks will be deducted. For questions that remain unattempted, no marks will be deducted
